Alliance for Prosperity and a Secure Retirement Responds to INPRS’ Politically Motivated Board Vote
The following statement is attributable to Tim Hill, president of the Alliance for Prosperity and a Secure Retirement (APSR):
“Today’s decision by the Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) clearly showed the culture-war politics of outside influences – not their fiduciary duty – was the driving motivation behind a board vote that arbitrarily put political winds ahead of the pension’s financial performance.
“During the meeting, INPRS staff admitted BlackRock, their incumbent pension advisor, has “done a great job” and “fees have been low” – important factors that should have been the key rationale for the Board’s actions. Unfortunately, political considerations superseded INPRS’ fiduciary duty, which sets a concerning precedent for Hoosier retirees and taxpayers who will ultimately bear the cost of this decision.”
